This week saw the students (although they looked to be mature age students) of UQ make the trip to Lanham Park on Friday night. Our first meeting saw a very attack minded game finish with a 5-5 draw and after both of us suffered heavy losses last week it was sure to be a tough game.

Met 2′s vs Eastern Suburbs

Our last game against Eastern Suburbs resulted in giving them a touch up 8-0, we had hoped that we could do this again. Unfortunately this did not come about. We started off strong and applied pressure for the first ten minutes with an number of crosses and shots but the Eastern Suburbs seem somewhat resilient.

Met 4′s vs South Side Eagles

We traveled to Memorial Park to take on the high flying Southside Eagles full of confidence after taking maximum points in the previous 2 weeks and putting 6 goals in whist only conceding 1. Last time we played SSE they beat us 3-1 and the guys were fired up to get some revenge. Unfortunately things weren’t going to plan when we conceded in the first few minutes. Read more

Reserves vs Brisbane Force

Following a couple of disappointing losses that saw us slide to the back of the pack chasing finals football, a trip to a resurgent Brisbane Force was always going to be difficult. Added to this, the absence of many regulars to the squad through suspension and mid season holidays made the task even harder. Thankfully, 3 youth players (Brendan, Sam & Jeremy) were able to fill the void and showed they were more than capable of stepping up on the day.
