Sunday saw us host North Pine at home, and while our finals hopes ended 2 weeks earlier, the visitors still had their eye on the the last qualifying spot. A slow start when we last met resulted in a 3-2 defeat, but the side I was able to put out had me hopeful of reversing this result and spoiling their party. Read more

Unfortunately, our trip to Goodna was yet another chapter in a season of missed opportunities. Once again, we controlled the game and created a bag of scoring chances, only to walk away with point.
The 1st half saw several players revelling in the good conditions on a superb pitch. Gareth was controlling the tempo in a central position, with Chris Zamitt and Sam Xinis causing problems in the wide roles. The defence rarely looked troubled, other than the threat of set play pressure where Spirit looked dangerous in the air.

U6-U8-Congratulations to the Huntly Black and Keith Black for making it to the grand final for the Bernie Murphy cup. The change is to remain aligned with the Division One game. The grand final will be played on Sunday 29th August, with the first half starting at 4pm instead of the usual 5pm start. Read more

After letting 2pts slip by conceding a last minute equaliser at North Star last week, the home game aginst QLD Lions shaped up as a must win to stay in contention for finals football. Inspite of a disrupted week due to the rain, we went in with a full strength side and attacking options on the bench.
