Undefeated so far this season, Grange were keen to continue their winning ways against a Park Ridge side who were struggling to get some points on the board. Coach Alan Waller made a few changes to the side who drew 2 all against the Gap last week, top scorer Micky V dropping to the bench for Sammy Xinis to make up the front three with Jamie and Shortman. Juniors – Field 1 closed for training on Thur 31st

Field 1 is closed for training on Thursday 31st March.  Providing the weather holds, Field 2 and Field 3 are still open for training today.  Junior teams allocated to train on Field 1 will need to find some space on Field 2 or 3.  If the weather worsens through the day, we may need to close Field 2 and Field 3, so keep an eye on the web page later in the day.

Premier Division 2R contenders Grange Thistle finally returned to the winners circle with a comfortable 2 – 0 victory over a stale The Gap side in the early game at the picturesque Walton Bridge Reserve.  Two goals in the first half by Daniel Horbury-Wood and Casey Boston were enough to give Grange the spoils and kick start their 2011 campaign. Metro 2 V’s UQ Match Report

Sunday night saw a Metro 2 clash between Grange Thistle Soccer Club and University of Queensland at Lanham Park as Paul Arnaud returned to the helm determined to refocus the team after an average start to the season.  The valuable addition of Janet Scamp as the team manager also provided some much needed structure and organization off the field. The field allocated to U8 training has been closed due to the field condition from the weekend rain.  We understand that this is the final chance to train before the start of the season, so we will contact the U8 teams to see if we can identify another time they could train this week.

First of all, congratulations to Tungy and Sarah who welcomed Willow into the world on Tuesday at a healthy 8 pounds 12 ounces. She’s obviously got a lot of her dad in her with a full head of black hair and has already hacked down her teddy bear in the bottom corner of her cot.
