Wet weather policy

BACKGROUND

The Board of Grange Thistle Soccer Club is aware of the need to implement a policy that addresses wet weather from a training perspective. In the past when it has or is raining there has been a lot of confusion regarding the potential to train.

1. Grounds Committee

For the 2011 season, the Grounds Committee is comprised of Russell Sommerville (Club President), Mike Williams (Junior President) and Cliff Hunter. This committee has primary responsibility for all matters relating to the grounds.
Russell will be responsible for informing the Club of any field closures, after consultation with other members of the committee.

2. Field Closure

In certain circumstances (e.g. excessive rain) it may be necessary to close fields. The Grounds Committee will be responsible for making decisions to close one or more of the fields to some or all of the teams. All coaches and managers must observe such decisions.

Individual coaches and managers may cancel training for their team prior to the official closure by the Grounds Committee but they cannot determine to continue training in inclement weather on any of our fields.

3. Contact Number

The contact number to determine if training is on during inclement weather is 07 3356 8553
after 4.00pm. Please quote name, team age, division and normal training space and you will be advised accordingly. This applies only to coaches and managers. All other calls will be diverted to the relevant coach or manager for advice. Field closures and training cancellations will be posted on the web site at approximately 4pm. Parents and players should use the Web Site where possible for field closures and training cancellations www.grangethistlesc.com.au
